Adamari López shared this Friday with her partner, the Spanish dancer Toni Costa, the emotions and details of the expected birth of her daughter Alaïa.

"We are super excited and super happy because our baby is already with us," said the 43-year-old first-time mom at a press conference, which was also accompanied by her doctor, Argentine obstetrician Adrián Del Boca, and which was carried out at Baptist Hospital in Kendall, Miami.

"I cried, I was excited," he said of the first time he saw the girl. "I saw her while they were cleaning her and it was very exciting to have her in my arms." Another one who got excited was Costa, 31, who cut the umbilical cord for the girl, who was born healthy weighing more than 5 pounds and measuring about 19 inches.

Who does the little one look like? “I'm going to say it the way I feel it. It's her dad's shit,”the Puerto Rican presenter of Un nuevo día (Telemundo) confessed with a laugh. “It is the same. She looks a lot like her dad."

Although revealed, the couple was very close and kissed the press. On the name of her daughter, López explained that Alaïa means daughter of God and warrior. “We have struggled a lot to have this baby. It has been a dream of many years”, she highlighted.

A dream that kept waiting until the last moment. After trying for about eight hours to give birth by natural childbirth, the doctor decided to perform a cesarean section to avoid pain to the mother and ensure the well-being of the girl, who was born at 37 weeks.

Although the birth was planned for the end of March, labor was induced when the doctor noticed that the level of amniotic fluid surrounding the baby in the uterus was low.

The couple's eyes watered as they recalled the recent death of Don Luis López, Ada's 85-year-old father, a few weeks before they met their granddaughter. Interestingly, the baby came into the world last Wednesday at 4:45 a.m., the time that Don Luis used to call his daughter every morning to greet her before she left for her morning show.

"It has been a hard process, but I think they have been present, both he and mom, throughout the pregnancy as they did throughout my life," said the presenter and actress about their late parents. "There they were with us sharing how they will share the rest of our lives."
