Shakira shared intimate details of her first pregnancy on her personal blog, including the fears she had to face as a first-time mother.
“When I was preparing to become a mother, for all the information I found, it was not enough for me. I read blogs, books about children, I asked 1,000 friends of mine who were already mothers 1,000 questions, I interrogated my own mother. I wanted to absorb all the material I found,”said the Colombian last Monday.
Like every new mother, Shakira wanted to do everything possible to ensure a safe and happy environment for her baby.
"Glass or plastic bottle? Pacifier yes or pacifier no? The harsh logistics seemed endless, and sometimes overwhelming, "he explained. “I knew that [my son] would always be surrounded by love. We knew that his father and I would take him to the doctor periodically to monitor his growth and development and to prevent as much as possible any possible danger or illness.”
The interpreter of "Hips don't lie" said she felt more secure in her second pregnancy. "The questions that kept me awake the first time around were no longer such a concern, and now I have more perspective on what is ultimately important."
