Whether you're aching for a new Harry Potter fix or need an escape from the current-day muggle world after these presidential elections, watching Fantastic Beast and Where to Find Them (Warner Bros.) will whiskey you away into the whimsical and magical wizarding world.
In this retro-spinoff from the Harry Potter series, creator JK Rowling turns the clock back to 1926 and introduces us to Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne), a British Magizoologist who travels to New York City with a briefcase filled with pleasantly entertaining animals and critters. Although Redmayne's character has one lighthearted mission, to set one of the beasts-a thunderbird-free, he has arrived in the city at a time where dark forces are causing destruction.
With the movie out in theaters this Friday, here are the five reasons why you should step back into Rowling's universe and watch Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. Expecto Patronum!
According to projections, the $ 180 million movie is predicted to earn in between the $ 70 million to $ 80 million range in the US, and beyond $ 200 million globally. In its first day of international release yesterday, Fantastic Beasts earned $ 6.9 million overseas, reported Variety. “We have done the very best job that we can. I have told a story I really wanted to tell. I hope that people love it,”Rowling said in a news conference.
