The Rio Olympics was a magical time where the world's greatest athletes were put to the ultimate test and their wildest dreams came true, especially for team USA's Fierce Five, or how they became to be known, the Final Five. The girls broke record after record and collected medal after medal. But not all dreams are measured by a scoreboard; some were much closer to the heart.
Last week we saw the unraveling of the Simone Biles and Zac Efron romance, and yesterday we got one more celebrity-athlete interaction before the games came to an end. Olympic medalist Laurie Hernandez went on Ryan Seacres t's Olympic Late Night show to talk about her experience in Rio and what's in store for the future, but little did she know that there was something else up Seacrest's sleeve.
The pair started talking about her life back home when Seacrest brought up The Voice, and followed up by asking the beam queen who her favorite coach was. "So Adam [Levine] keeps winning so I like Adam because of that," Laurie said while bring her hands to her face, the signature gesture that has gained her the nickname of the human emoji.
Ryan then told her to put her earpiece in because he had a surprise video from The Voice coach especially for her. "What's up, Laurie ?," Adam said. "This is Adam Levine, just wanted to say 'Hello, congratulations.' You're kicking butt out there, and we've been watching you from the States. Excellent work.”
And thus, the gold medal for the best Olympic flirtation of the week has been handed to Laurie and Adam. Check out the whole interview below and let us know what you think!
