George Takei released an unexpected new video urging Latino citizens to register to vote in order to stop Donald Trump from becoming president.
Takei spoke in Spanish the entire video and compared Trump's plan to deport 11 million undocumented immigrants to the imprisonment of Japanese Citizens during Pearl Harbor.
"Back then, they simply said, 'A Jap is a Jap,' and we lost our homes and freedom, even though two thirds of us were US citizens," Takei said. “Today, Trump tells his supporters that a 'Mexican is a Mexican.'”
The "Star Trek" actor personally experienced America's Japanese internment camps firsthand during World War II.
No candidates, including Hillary Clinton, were being endorsed in the video message; I've solely focused on encouraging Mexican-Americans to vote and help ensure that Trump “never comes to power.”
"Together, we can and we will defeat him," said Takei.
