Better late than never but never late is better is the lesson Uber wants customers to learn.

Uber riders are not too happy about the new update. The company has officially started rolling out the new rule in which passengers need to get to their requested car within two minutes or they face charges.

Previously, passengers had five minutes to get to their car but Uber wanted to put the drivers in consideration. “When a driver arrives promptly, we think it's only fair that they're compensated for their time,” they said on their website.

The two-minute penalty doesn't only apply in waiting as the company also released a rule where riders have to cancel trips within two minutes in case they change their mind or they will be charged a small fee depending on the city.

Uber first announced the new rules in April after drivers complained about customers making them wait.
