Kendall Jenner, Bella Hadid And More Celebrities Take A Stand On Women's Day

Just over a month ago, the streets of Washington DC became the space for more than 470,000 people who traveled from all over the country to march in support of the Women's March. Today on March 8th, we celebrate International Women's Day, a day that has been celebrated for decades as a “global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women.” The organizers of the Women's March are also helping us celebrate by creating, A Day Without A Women. This movement is encouraging anyone, anywhere to partake by only shopping at minority and female-owned businesses, wearing red in solidarity and if possible, taking the day off.

What started this movement has most definitely been the political climate Americans have been living in over the past year. This situation opened the door to every day people speaking up for their rights. This also has led to the rise of major fashion designers, A-list celebrities and publishers such as Teen Vogue choosing to use their platform to evoke change. W Magazine also decided to join the fight by speaking out to the current administration with their release of the “I Am An Immigrant” video, which launched at the end of New York Fashion Week to respond to Trump's travel ban. This video featured 81 of fashion's most recognizable faces.

But W Magazine isn't done just yet. The magazine released another powerful video that brought together over 60 well-known celebrities in the fashion industry to take a stand on women's rights, something that has been undermined for years. They chose to honor International Women's Day their way and includes supermodels Kendall Jenner, Bella Hadid and our very own Puerto-Rican native Joan Smalls for a new video titled, “Women's Rights Are Human Rights.”
