Coronavirus Reveals The Difference Between Social Classes

Despite the fact that the coronavirus pandemic is said to not understand classes or races, the result of the Covid-19 outbreak is still further enhancing the difference between races and social strata.

If the virus of racism towards the Asian community was first felt in much of the world when they learned that this outbreak originated in China, the marginalization between social classes is becoming very present in schools and universities, not to mention the looming economic situation for which almost no one is prepared.

In the United States, since schools closed, children have been taking classes online … Those who can. Across the country, Internet access for boys who attend public schools is limited and they often do not have a computer to do homework. While some continue learning with less difficulty, others cannot.

The New York Times spoke to a professor at Haverford College. She continues to teach her classes in zoom and observed how, while everyone in the collage seemed the same, from the homes of the students, when they were in the video conferences, the reality was far from each other. While one of her students was at her family's magnificent vacation home in Maine, another was helping to try to save her parents' business in a food truck in Jacksonville, Florida.

As the skyscrapers of big cities are emptying of people who continue to work in their homes, the cleaning staff continues to work in the offices they abandoned, the delivery people continue to carry packages door-to-door, and supermarket cashiers gamble the life without being able to afford to leave their workplace.
