During the trial, the prosecutor claimed that Gabriel was forced to eat cat litter and forced to sleep in a small cabinet, in addition to being beaten by Aguirre with bats and metal buckles, among other objects.

According to the documents, the boy's torture began eight months before his death, when Pearl moved in with Aguirre in 2012.
