An 18-year-old from Colorado is in a coma with severe brain damage after suffering two heart attacks when she had breast augmentation surgery.

According to various media reports, Emmalyn Nguyen's lips and face began to turn blue 15 minutes after the anesthesia was administered. During the next five hours later, she suffered two cardiac arrests and remained "neurologically unconscious," according to reports.

The young woman's family recently disclosed the case in a lawsuit, although the procedure was performed last August at the Aesthetics & Plastic Surgery center in Greenwood Village, Colordado.

The young woman's parents have filed a negligence lawsuit against Dr. Geoffrey Kim, responsible for the operation, and the anesthesia manager, Rex Meeker. They allege that after the heart attack, no one “immediately” proceeded to help the deceased and, in addition, they lied to them about her state of health.

According to the lawsuit, Meeker left Nguyen unobserved for 15 minutes after the anesthesia. He claims it was both who waited five hours to call the 911 emergency number to report that something was wrong.
