Apparently, the rumors turned out to be true and after much speculation about whether Lucero would return to television, the Mexican press claims that the singer will participate in a new version of the soap opera The Privilege of Loving that aired more than two decades ago.
According to reports in various Aztec media, after an intense audition process that took place in early December - and which Gabriel Soto and Ernesto Laguardia reportedly attended - the singer was left with the female lead role.
So far, Lucero has not spoken about his new work in which José Manuel Figueroa would also participate. According to the Mexican press, filming will begin in February of next year under the direction of the producer Carla Estrada. However, in a fun video where she toured her career highlighting some of her melodramas, the actress flirts with her followers about her next "news", without giving more details.
It is reported that the new version of the melodrama starring Adela Noriega and René Strickler in 1998 will revolve around a young woman who grows up in luxury until she faces the death of her father and is forced to find her own way and leave her country to forge a better future in America.
This project would mark the expected return to the small screen of the actress and singer, whose last participation in a melodrama was in 2012. That year, Lucero gave life to Helena Moreno in the soap opera Por ella soy Eva.
