It's only a little over a month to go until the big night of the Latin Grammy Awards and as the artists prepare their best looks for a parade on the red carpet, there is a music production team that is getting ready to celebrate a collective triumph with them.
And it is that only obtaining a nomination for the coveted award is considered a tremendous achievement. Now, being nominated for six, including Producer of the Year, is a total victory and this is well known by Colombian producer Julio Reyes Copello, who considers his mission and responsibility to give people a beautiful vision of the universe through music. Latin.

"I want to legitimize the beautiful, make people dream, is what I do when I look for new artists, not in search of fame, but an honest and spiritual search," Reyes Copello told People En Español about his record label Art House Records., where he takes artists such as Paula Arenas, Juan Pablo Vega and Mariana Vega.
We talked with cucuteño behind hits such as “Mi persona persona” by Alejandro Sanz and Camila Cabello and “Vivir mi vida” by Marc Anthony about what it's like to work with some of these music greats. Here is what she told us!
How has your creative experience been with the singers you have worked with ?
Producer's job is to translate artists' expectations into reality. That is the work that is not seen. Part musician and part psychologist and basically get the best version of them without being intimidating. Create the perfect environment so that the artist can be honest and have that ability to move and that the ultimate goal that all producers have. An ability to move so much that it removes people from their reality and puts them in those three or four minutes. It is almost natural work.
What is it like to collaborate with artists like Marc Anthony, Ricky Martin, Jennifer López, etc …?
I believe that one is dealing with super sensitive personalities and you have to know what to say, how to say it, what not to say and at what moment because all that can damage the environment. That is very important to keep in mind.
I am like your psychologist. I have a PHD in psychology and psychiatry. When they enter here it is like entering their own bathroom, it is total privacy and I protect that a lot.
What do you think about the urban gender controversy in the nominations for the Latin Grammy Awards?
The space for urban music is as a category. Pretend that the space that this gender has transcends the other categories. The academy is the only instance that has the capacity to value and respect the plurality and quantity of genres that exist and represent Latin American culture. But neither can it be claimed that this defines Latin American culture. It is a call to reflection, that is the mission of the academy. It is possibly the only instance that serves as a platform for genres and artists who do not have a machinery behind or have money and it is the only opportunity they have to get out there.
There are already awards that recognize numbers and views, like the Billboard [Awards], but I respect the academy in its mission of being equitable and giving space to all genres, including the urban genre because it is part of the boom that is having Latin music, but they don't know us just for that.
What do you look for in the artists you work with today?
What I value most about this mission I am on is finding voices that have a particularity and strength, more than musical, spiritual, that have an impressive capacity to move. That is what I am looking for. I am super mystical regarding the power that music has, it is very important. I feel like those of us in the entertainment industry have a responsibility to give people the best version of everything. The best version of human emotions and that is what is behind the music I make with my label and with my artists.
