John Robinson Murdered 19-year-old Heather Robinson's Mother

A 19-year-old girl who was killed in Kansas some 35 years ago left a four-month-old girl, who was left in the hands of the murderer John Robinson. He took pity on the girl and kept her alive, handing her over to his brother and sister-in-law, who desperately wanted to have a baby. Robinson falsified the adoption documents and released the baby to the couple, who called Heather, according to People.

According to investigators of the case, the new parents had no idea that Robinson, father and grandfather, was a cold-blooded killer, let alone the true provenance of their little daughter.

Since Heather found out who she really was, she has not ceased her efforts with the help of her husband to learn more about her mother, Lisa Stasi, whose body has never been found, according to People.

In an exclusive interview that will be seen this Friday on ABC's 20/20 program, Heather will tell her surprising story for the first time.

Heather said she was not surprised to learn of the crimes attributed to Robinson, as she was always suspicious of him. Authorities arrested him in 2000 for robbery and sexual assault, but then discovered the bodies of several women on property that was rented under his name.

A Kansas jury convicted him of three murders and he was sentenced to death. In addition, Robinson pleaded guilty to five other murders in Missouri, for which he received five life terms without parole.

Heather, for her part, assures that she will not allow this experience to define her life, but rather the contrary. She wants to forge a new path for herself and her family and try to help other women with her story.
