Sofía Castro undergoes an extraordinary transformation in El Dragón, the new series in which she shares credits with Sebastián Rulli and Irina Baeva. In this production of the Univision network, the Mexican gives life to Kenya, a peculiar woman who departs from a good part of the roles that she has had to play to date.
“She is a computer specialist, [a] hacker. She is part of the dragon team and has many secrets,”says Angélica Rivera's daughter and producer José Alberto Castro. “It was a super important challenge for me to create this character, for everything it took to build it. It touches on a very important issue, which is the abuse of women, and it goes through many stages in history.”
To get into the skin of his character, Castro put aside his demure image, put on tattoos and made up as a rocker. “The hair color, the look of the character is something totally different from me and from what I have been doing. I am all tattooed, with a purple mouth and dreadlocks. I love my look!”Confesses the young woman, who firmly believes that after this project the doors will open much more in the world of acting. I think this project is very important. It is a watershed for them to see something different from what I have done”.
Those who support her in this transformation have been her mother, her father and, of course, her sisters. "I love being with my family, talking about everything and we love to see a good movie or series," he says. "Now all together we will see The Dragon."
What about that boyfriend you've been seeing in New York? "My heart is happy and at peace as I always wanted it to be," he replies.
