A nurse in Florida was pleasantly surprised during her day at the hospital. Laura Suazo, who was pregnant, had to work during Hurricane Dorian through her condition. However, the working day ended with the birth of their baby, a healthy girl named Penelope. The hurricane brought good news for Suazo and her partner, although it has left destruction as it passes through the Bahamas and other regions.

The nurse gave birth in a Melbourne hospital under torrential rain and strong gusts of wind. Suazo was willing to work last Monday despite the warning that the hurricane would hit her city. Everyone was surprised when the nurse had a three-week delivery delay and gave birth to her daughter on Tuesday morning.

"I was in the perfect place to have my baby and I'm glad I was here in the hospital," said the happy mom in a statement. "I was definitely surprised to give birth three weeks ahead of schedule but the experience was absolutely wonderful."

Both the mother and the beautiful baby are in good health, the statement added. Little Penelope is one of eight babies born at this medical center during Hurricane Dorian in Florida, a hospital spokesperson told PEOPLE. Welcome to the world Penelope!
