Child Dies After Being A Victim Of Abuse And Malnutrition

Eduardo, a 12-year-old Hispanic boy, died after being the victim of brutal abuse by his parents. The teenager weighed about 50 pounds and had zero body fat percentage when he died in a Bloomington, Indiana hospital. His father, Luis Posso, 33, and his stepmother Dayan Median Flores, 26, are accused of abusing, chaining and starving the minor. The couple, some circus promoters, also had three other children, who were in good health, in their custody and were placed in the custody of the Child Protective Services.

According to the Monroe County Sheriff's Office, the couple were traveling across the country with the children promoting a circus and they were staying with the four minors at a motel in Indiana. Authorities found boxes with chains and a dog collar with electric shocks.

They also found videos recorded with a cell phone of Eduardo tied to the bathtub while the other children and Flores entered and left the bathroom ignoring him. Posso also posed for a selfie with the boy tied behind. Posso and Flores stated that they abused Eduardo because he "behaved worse than the other children." Eduardo's father and stepmother are in the Monroe County Jail awaiting trial. Authorities hope to charge them with the murder of the minor and await the results of his autopsy.
