According to local media, Lyle was riding as a passenger in a car on his way to the Miami International Airport when he allegedly crossed in front of another vehicle driven by Juan Ricardo Hernández, a 63-year-old Cuban. Upon reaching a traffic light, Hernández got out of his car and claimed the alleged recklessness from the driver of the actor's car.

In an alleged video of the incident, what appears to be the driver of Lyle's car is seen getting off and arguing with who appears to be Hernández and how afterwards a passenger of the author, apparently Lyle, also gets off and hits the Cuban, who collapses.
