The largest electronics show in the United States, the Consumers Electronics Show, CES, was surrounded by controversy this year due to the exclusion of a sex toy designed for women; the Osé vibrator.

The sex robot was left out of the fair allegedly for being "immoral". This is the first product that the Lola Dicarlo company has developed.

The Osé is designed to simultaneously stimulate the clitoris and the elusive G-spot, an area on the front wall of the vagina that can be particularly sensitive.

Lola Vars, the company's technical director, said in an open letter that the decision smacks of sexism at the fair. “Men's sexuality is allowed to be explicit, with a literal sex robot in the form of a woman of unreal proportions and [virtual reality] pornography at a point of pride along the aisle. Female sexuality, on the other hand, is strongly silenced, if not totally prohibited.”

Before the Las Vegas show, Osé received an award in the Robotics and Drone Products category by a panel of judges impressed with his innovation. But convention organizers at the Consumer Technology Association (CTA) rescinded the award and told the company that it could not display its products at the fair. CTA officials told Fortune in a statement: "The referenced product does not fit into any of our existing product categories and should not have been accepted for the Innovation Awards Program."

The controversy has drawn a lot of media attention to the new company. That will only continue as adult entertainment sites have offered the company thousands of dollars in advertising for a month when the Osé is released in February.
