The video of a Chilean YouTuber where he appears torturing his cat to death is costing him dearly.
The clip emerged on networks on November 26 on the Twitter account of a 15-year-old boy who publishes under the name "Peluchín Entertainment", according to the local newspaper La Tercera.
There you can see the teenager - whose first name is Matías Ignacio Vera Oyarzo - hitting, kicking, harassing and torturing the animal until it could no longer move.
Later, the boy residing in the remote town of Punta Arenas, in Patagonia, pointed out that his "new" cat, who was supposedly named Jason Krueger, had died "for various reasons." That he was “infected” and that is why what they had to take to the vet to “sacrifice” him.
However, the video showed a much different version. The outrage in networks has been such that there are even hashtags through which justice has been requested for the kitten and above all: a punishment for the minor for his wrongdoing.
Through #Justiciaparajason, both the video and the teenager's personal information were disseminated and things have reached such a degree that even his address, telephone number, age and the place where he studies have been revealed.
For its part, the aforementioned Chilean newspaper reported that, according to the local radio Bío-Bío, an investigation was launched to determine if what happened merits a sanction under the guidelines of the so-called "Cholito Law", for mistreatment of an animal. If convicted, Vera Oyarzo would have to pay a fine and even face a sentence of between 61 and 540 days in prison.
For his part, the young man has resorted to his Twitter account to say: “I'm worth it. It is only a novelty of the day and that's it”.
