Six years after the massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut, the state Supreme Court has unanimously authorized the release of the newspapers of the young man who carried out the massacre. And what is revealed there is deeply disturbing.
The massacre is considered perhaps the worst in the history of the country because 20 first-grade children and 6 teachers lost their lives there. Adam Lanza, the author of the massacre, was then 20 years old and before committing his horrible crime, he shot his mother in his own home. In the end he killed himself.
Among the documents released by the government are many photos and the assassin's diaries, which were found in the Lanza family home.
Its content was revealed by the local newspaper The Courant and there a boy with a fragile, skeletal personality is presented, who from a very young age isolated himself from the world. "Incessantly I have nothing but a deep hatred for humanity," Lanza wrote in a message he exchanged online with an opponent in a video game.
The young man practically "lived" in his basement with windows covered in black plastic. He was obsessed with violence and combat video games. According to various sources, his mother started him in the practice of high-powered weapons and it was she who took him to practice to improve his shooting in shooting practice centers.
Among his belongings was found a document that painstakingly collected decades of massacres.
Lanza presented language problems from a very young age, which isolated him from his companions, as detailed. Then he developed verminophobia, that is, fear of germs and avoided contact with other people, in addition to being extremely sensitive to light and sounds.
"The State hid the writings, reports and files [from Lanza] not only from the eyes of the press, but also from investigators and clinical personnel who could have been alert to alarm signs if they had known them," said the editors of The Courant, defending their decision to publish the disturbing content.
"We must pay attention when dealing with angry, lonely children: looking for preventive strategies to prevent such a tragedy from ever happening again."
Various tributes arose in networks to remember the victims of Sandy Hook while the three-state chapter "Moms Demand Action" paid tribute at Munsey Memorial United Methodist Church in downtown Johnson City.
