Valerie Curbelo, a woman traveling on a Southwest airline, was arrested on felony charges for threatening to kill flight passengers. She was later released on bail with a passenger who was smoking on flight 2943 in Portland, Oregon and Sacramento, California. The passenger, Curbelo, 24, had forced the smoke detector into the bathroom of the plane.
According to KOIN 6 television, a stewardess entered the bathroom to discover the woman, but the situation worsened. The woman refused to leave the bathroom, and when she was forced, ripped an oxygen mask from the roof of the plane.
Everything was documented in a video that has gone viral. In the clip the mask is seen hanging and the woman screaming: "I have my own final destination", while she grabs her belongings and prepares as if she could land the flight in midair.
"I swear to you, if they don't land, I'm going to kill everyone on this plane," the woman is heard screaming as she struggles with the flight attendant, who replies "she won't."
The woman had to be held by the passengers and the flight had to land in an emergency in Sacramento. The police were waiting for her at the exit to arrest her.
