The shocking video of the moment a writer dies while doing a live interview for television has gone viral.

Renowned professor Rita Jitendra, a professor at a university in India, choked and died while speaking during the filming of the Good Morning J&K morning show. Speaking of her life and career to date, the teacher, writer, and artist suddenly stopped speaking in mid-sentence and fell apart.

Jitendra was pronounced dead upon arrival at the SMHS Hospital in Jammu, India, due to a sudden heart attack.

"He was telling us some interesting things about his life and he looked absolutely normal," said Zahid Mukhtar, the host of the show. “But suddenly she stopped talking and started hiccuping. We had to cut the interview and change to a documentary to attend to her and take her to the hospital.”

He told the Indian Telegraph: "She had a great association with television and her last words were about how she started doing the dramas."

The woman in charge of Rita's visit to Srinagar to the city, Hafiza Muzaffar, told the publication that while the teacher was being brought to the studio for the interview, she said she wanted her death to be like former President APJ Abdul Kalam, who collapsed while giving a speech.

Muzaffar, former secretary of the state women's commission, said: “She said that Dr. Kalam had died while working. This is how she knew her ending too. She gave her last breath in the studio.

The show's producer, Tanveer Mir, said Jitendra suddenly drowned and collapsed. "It is shocking to us, as this is the first incident in Doordarshan's history when a guest died on a live show."
