A young explorer from a high school in Ohio is accused of killing her baby. Brooke Skylar Richardson, now 19, was 18 when she gave birth to an unintended baby. According to recent court testimony, the young mother was desperate to learn of her unwanted pregnancy.
The Cincinnati Enquirer newspaper reports that Richardson did not want to be a single mother and wanted to go to college after graduating from high school. According to her doctor, Richardson did not return for ultrasounds and other necessary check-ups during the pregnancy and ignored calls from her doctor's office, the newspaper reports.
The doctor said the young woman returned three months later to her office and told her that she had given birth to a dead baby. The authorities' investigation reveals that the baby was born alive. The young woman is accused of killing and then burning her newborn, burying him in the garden of her parents' house.
Richardson has pleaded not guilty and is free on bail. The young woman is under house arrest but can leave her house if she returns at 9 pm Richardson's lawyer assures that the young woman never wanted to harm her newborn. The alarming case is still ongoing.
