The parents of a baby were forced to snatch their child from the hands of a French priest who slapped him during his baptism.
The aberrant act that circulates today on the Internet shows the strange moment in which the priest hits the boy in the face with the left hand after losing his sanity when the little one did not stop crying.
The man and woman holding the boy, who appear to be his parents, look indignant, react in shock, and go forward to snatch their baby, but the priest did not release him.
Although it is not known where or when the video was captured, it was recorded in a church where the ceremony was held in French.
At the beginning of the clip, the woman who appears to be the baby's mother is holding her in her arms as the priest, dressed in white robes, begins the ceremony next to a baptismal font.
But it soon becomes clear that the child is not enjoying the process, as he can be heard screaming out loud. The father begins to appear angry at the loud noise and raised his voice apparently speaking directly to the child.
The boy's parents still seem to smile when the priest brings the baby's head to him, but the baby reacts badly and waves his right arm toward the woman.
As he continues to cry, the priest says, 'Calm down, calm down, you must calm down.'
The visibly upset priest holds the baby's face in his hands, looks him in the eye, and slaps him hard on the cheek with his left hand.
His aggression provokes an immediate reaction when the baby cries louder, his relatives are surprised and another woman approaches to try to calm the situation by putting her hand on the clergyman's chest as if to contain it.
When the public observes that he begins to murmur, he repeats: "You have to calm down, you have to calm down."
The man who appears to be the boy's father steps in, taking the boy out of the priest's control, even when the cleric seems unrepentant and struggles for possession.
The video has caused the reaction of thousands on social networks, including celebrities who are mothers, such as Zuleyka Rivera, who expressed her feelings.
“It gives me a lot of courage and indignation that as adults and maturing we still do not understand this basic principle of love. We are responsible for our children to any person and situation. We will NEVER stand idly by NEVER,”he said on Instagram.
