The political and economic crisis that Venezuela is experiencing continues to affect mainly the millions of Venezuelans living in the South American country, for this reason, thousands have decided to leave everything behind to escape their native land, in search of a refuge in Colombia.
The conditions in which many of these Venezuelan immigrant families live are not the best, since they live in makeshift camps established in different Colombian cities.
The beloved singer Ricardo Montaner has been one of the stars of the show who has repeatedly expressed his feelings about the crisis his country is experiencing and taking advantage of his recent visit to the city of Barranquilla, he wanted to give an emotional surprise to a group of compatriots who it is located on the outskirts of the transport terminal of the coastal city.
“I am in Barranquilla, Colombia, to perform a concert tonight. I came to the bus passenger terminal to visit the Venezuelan civilians who are living here thanks to the people of Colombia who have allowed them to enter and thanks to the good will of many people who help them. But at the same time they are looking for life, they are looking for work, they are decent people, people who need to get ahead and be able to help the family they left behind in Venezuela,”says the interpreter through a video posted on his social networks.
I want to tell you, wherever you are, that with just one click entering the Human Rights Watch page you can lobby for all governments to demand even more, not only the United Nations but all human rights organizations of the world”, pointed out the Latin music star.
In a second video, Montaner also revealed how emotional this meeting with his compatriots was, who are trying to rebuild their lives in a foreign land. "What I experienced this morning in the Barranquilla passenger terminal was something that I have not yet overcome myself … the people of Venezuela are beautiful, they hug tightly, they hug with feeling, they make you want to cry," says the artist.
