Sharron Dobbins, a 40-year-old Arizona state woman, was accused of using an electromagnetic weapon to wake up her 17-year-old son and force him to attend church last Easter Sunday.
The woman was arrested by Phoenix city authorities for child abuse and attempted mistreatment, as reported by People magazine through a report published on its online site.
Only hours after his arrest, Dobbins was released and in statements to the local KNXV network he gave his version of events. "I just made a noise with the gun but I didn't use it on my son," said the boy's mother.
The version that the teenager gave to the police seems to be very different, since he would have confessed to the agents in charge of the case that his mother used the weapon on one of her legs but did not want to testify against her mother, as added in the AZ Central news portal.
In her statements, the woman found in the celebration of Easter the perfect excuse to justify her actions. "I said [to my son], 'get up is the day of Jesus' … I don't think he has done anything wrong, because we are supposed to put God first of all and that is what he was trying to do, I tell my children that God is first,”added Dobbins.
The woman will have to appear in court on April 16, where she will give details of her behavior. At the moment, your child is taking care of relatives.
Electromagnetic weapons are commonly used to immobilize people or animals using powerful electric shocks that can cause intense pain and even cause death.
