Teens Start Dangerous Challenge

The challenges that arise on the internet among teens are often a common issue; however, some may be so dangerous that the life of the practitioner is put at risk. Now, something known as the challenge of inhaling condoms is becoming popular, which consists of a boy putting a condom in one of his nostrils and expiring it until it can be removed through the mouth.

This type of unusual competition is recorded by young people who perform it to upload to the YouTube platform and little by little they are viralizing and becoming a trend, which can have serious consequences, as mentioned by Bruce Y. Lee, associate professor of International Health at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.

"Anything that goes up to your nose can damage the sensitive inner lining of your nose," said Y. Lee in Forbes. "To cause an allergic reaction or an infection."

Even Mexican doctors have mentioned that introducing the condom through the nose can cause irritation in the nostril, as well as bleeding, caused by the substances contained in said prophylactic. Also, during this challenge, a link can be made on the inside of the larynx or if it could not be removed, death would be caused by suffocation, according to the Mexican newspaper El Siglo de Torreón.

For his part, Stephen Enriquez, who teaches parents drug and alcohol prevention in minors, has now included these types of trends in his talks in order to prevent parents.

"Currently our teenagers are doing whatever it takes to have 'Likes', more number of viewed content and followers," Enriquez explained to the US channel KABB-TV.
