Florida Woman Arrested For Incest

A Florida-resident mother has been arrested on suspicion of having incestuous sex with her brother and having a child who was born with "serious defects."

The defendant is Pauline Elizabeth Martin, 33, of Groveland. According to Lake County police, the woman was detained after DNA tests showed that the baby she gave birth to four months ago had been procreated by "close relatives."

The boy was born on November 21 with "various medical problems," according to the arrest warrant obtained by People. Within a few hours of birth, the creature was transferred to Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women and Babies.

According to authorities, the woman did not do the paperwork for the birth or request that the child be taken to a medical center where he could receive specialized care. The woman also did not request the birth certificate of the child.

It was not until February 26 that, after meeting with authorities from the State Department of Children and Families, Martin made the request for said act.

According to reports from People, Martin confessed that the baby's father was his brother and that three years ago they had moved to Groveland to be able to live as a couple.

The woman, who has another 12-year-old son and works as a cashier at a McDonald's, told police that she planned to end sex with her brother, but that the last time she had sex with him was on March 21. According to various sources, the police are now looking for the creature's father for questioning.

Martin was arrested Thursday after allegedly kicking a detective and spitting on a police officer. According to the Orlando Sentinel newspaper, she has been accused of incest and resistance without violence, and released from the local prison after posting bail of $ 3,000.
