Donald Trump's Alleged 9-month Affair With A Playboy Model During His Marriage To Melania

An explosive new report from The New Yorker claims that Donald Trump had a consensual sexual relationship with Karen McDougal, who was Playboy's Playmate of the Year, during his marriage to Melania.

The story - titled "Donald Trump, a Playboy model and a system to cover up infidelity" - is the work of journalist Ronan Farrow, who helped expose allegations of sexual misconduct against discredited Hollywood magnate Harvey Weinstein. (Farrow is also the son of actress Mia Farrow and is at odds with her father, Woody Allen.)

In it, Farrow details the elaborate cover-up system the former Celebrity Apprentice driver allegedly put into action to hide and protect his extramarital affairs prior to the presidency, claiming that Trump resorted to clandestine meetings in hotel rooms, payments, and resorts. Legal agreements to keep his affairs - sometimes multiple sexual encounters he carried out simultaneously - out of the press' reach.

Crucial to those efforts was Trump's close relationship with David Pecker - editor of American Media, Inc.'s National Enquirer magazine and its CEO and president - who refers to the president as "a personal friend," reports Farrow. The company allegedly bought the exclusive rights to a story in order to bury it, a practice known in the tabloid press industry as "catch and kill."

McDougal allegedly was receiving ent, but told The New Yorker that Trump denies having had an affair with McDougal: “This is an old story that is just more fake news. The President says he never had a relationship with McDougal.”

During the course of the same, the woman assures that Trump tried hard so that her expenses could not be related to him. "There is no proof," she wrote. "In fact, every time I traveled to meet him I made the reservation and paid for the flight + hotel + he reimbursed me."

McDougal also contends that Trump once gave him a tour of Trump Tower and his golf club in Bedminster, New Jersey - pointing to Melania's separate room. "She mentioned that she liked having her own space to read or be alone," McDougal wrote.

Trump frequently sent McDougal favorable articles about his business and covered it with merchandise from his golf courses, according to the latter. He allegedly promised to buy her an apartment in New York as a Christmas present.

White House representatives did not immediately respond to People magazine, but told The New Yorker that Trump denies having an affair with McDougal: "This is an old story that is nothing more than fake news. The president claims to have never had a relationship with McDougal."

The Farrow report comes to light three days after Trump's lifelong attorney Michael D. Cohen admitted to making a payment for "a private transaction." (Trump also had an alleged encounter with Daniels in Lake Tahoe a few months after Barron's birth.)

The Wall Street Journal initially reported the payment in January, arguing it took place a month before the 2016 election and Daniels was required to remain silent on the alleged affair. In Touch magazine later published excerpts from an archived 2011 interview with Daniels in which he discussed his alleged sexual relationship with Trump, which he said took place in July 2006.

The White House denies that the affair took place, declaring to the Wall Street Journal last month: "These are old, recycled reports that were published and emphatically denied prior to the election."
