Rian Rodríguez, 27, the soccer coach who was found with a 17-year-old teenager who had been reported missing, was accused of sexual activity with a minor, according to PEOPLE magazine.

Rodríguez had already been accused of interfering in the custody of a child for allegedly running away with Caitlyn Frisina on November 26.

The young woman and her coach were intercepted by a New York officer who located them thanks to his car, a Mercury Sable GS. It happened exactly in Syracuse. The police stopped the vehicle and verified that the one who was traveling in it was the missing girl. This was stated by Sheriff Mark Hunter at a press conference. Rodríguez was arrested on December 1.

Rodríguez's arrest statement, which was obtained by PEOPLE, alleges that one of the teenager's friends said Frisina had had a sexual relationship with Rodríguez, who pressured her to leave the country with him.

The affidavit alleges that the Fort White High School student told her friends that "she didn't know how to get out of her and that if she did, it would ruin her life."

According to the statement, Frisina's phone had been restored, but that the data recovered from the SIM card allegedly indicated that both had had a sexual relationship.

According to the affidavit, a school resources officer investigated a rumor in August that Frisina and Rodríguez were in a relationship, but determined that those allegations were not true.

The new charge, according to indictment documents, alleges that the former assistant coach was "having sex multiple times" with the teenager.

Frisina retired assistant coach on her county's football team, Columbia, Florida, Sheriff Detective Captain Katina Dicks told PEOPLE.

It was unclear Monday whether Rodríguez had a lawyer who could comment on the charges he faces. Rodríguez could be released after posting bail of $ 125,000.
