Patricia Janiot Arrives At Univisión

Univision announced today that the name of the journalist who will present the Univisión News Edition Night Edition with Enrique Acevedo. This is the Colombian communicator Patricia Janiot who has been the "face" of the CNN network in Spanish for the past 25 years. The position to work with Acevedo had become vacant after it was announced that Ilia Calderón would go on to host the evening Unicisión Newscast with Jorge Ramos.

On Friday, teary eyed and visibly excited, Janiot said goodbye to television viewers for the network for which she has covered some of the biggest events that have impacted the world in the past 25 years.

In addition to thanking the public, the new presenter of the Univisión news team thanked her two great mentors, including Abel Dimand: "He was a teacher of this trade," he said. “A mentor, a journalist, one of those institutions that taught us to doubt and question. A language guardian, a friend, a director that we have been missing for many years in the newsroom”

He also thanked John Petrovich, Rolando Santos, Chris Crommett and Cynthia Hudson, indicating that they taught him "how important it is to defend and care for the best legacy of a human being or an organization: his reputation".

And to the producer team, the workers who deliver the best of their work behind the scenes, he also thanked them, saying that they are "that force that works with the same dedication, but does not take the credits."

In addition to presenting the Univisión nightly newscast starting in January 2018, the Emmy Award winner will co-host the Here and Now program with Teresa Rodríguez and Ilia Calderón. It will also launch a new program, focused on news and interviews about Latin America on all Univision Noticias digital platforms, and develop content for special programs.
