Nino Spends 11 Days Sleeping And They Don't Know Why

A 7-year-old little boy has kept doctors at a Kentucky hospital awake for several days as they try to figure out what might have caused him to sleep so deeply that he kept him asleep for eleven days nonstop.

Amy Thompson, the boy's mother, took her son Wyatt Shaw to the hospital alarmed because inexplicably one morning she tried to wake him up, and there was no way he was going to get up, the ABC affiliate reported.

He assured that only two days before, the creature had been part of the procession of a wedding, wearing the rings of the bride and groom. "It was incredible, the show was stolen," he said, adding that in the last dance, the boyfriend's girlfriend was "stolen."

But only about 48 hours later, there was no one to get him out of bed. I tried to wake him up and he was still asleep. I screamed 'Wyatt' 'Wyatt' 'Wyatt' and then fell asleep again.”

Concerned, the mother took her son to Norton Children's Hospital, where they kept him under observation. While the cables controlled her brain activity, Wyatt slept and slept for 11 days straight.

"When he opened his eyes, it didn't seem like it was there and it was scary," said the mother.

Despite the multiple examinations he underwent, the doctors found no indication of what was happening to him. Both the MRI, X-rays, and blood tests yielded normal results.

Finally, on the tenth day of being hospitalized, the little boy received a new medicine to treat seizures. The next day, he woke up, and although he was unable to move or speak at first, he is gradually returning to normal.

For now, doctors are still studying what could have caused the child's prolonged rest, which until now is the protagonist of a real mystery.
