A must in the top Paris shows, with one of the most envied closets on the planet and 7.9 million followers of his best looks on Instagram. We present to you Camila Coelho, the Brazilian influencer who has the world -real and digital- at her feet.

How did you get from the makeup counter at Macy's to become the world's most influential Latino influencer?

Since I was very young, my mother instilled in me the importance of being independent. […] When I finished school I went to live in Boston with my aunt and I started working at Macy's selling Dior makeup. A year later I became a makeup artist and started working on my own, doing makeup for weddings and things like that and it was around that time that I discovered YouTube. I saw a video makeup tutorial from Kandee Johnson, one of the first girls to make makeup videos online and I thought, “This is great! I can make videos like this and share them with my friends and my family who always ask me to give them a class or to teach them how to apply foundation, eyeliner.” I was very embarrassed at first. […] OMG, I used the most yellow light you can imagine. It was totally a hobby,No one yet knew that making videos on the internet could become a career.

Was it an immediate success?

The first six months I had many visits, then I started the blog because people asked me for more content. I started sharing everything from my nail color, my outfit of the day, to my family … In the first days of the blog I received more than 150,000 visits, which at the time was crazy. After a year with the blog, an agency signed me and that's when the hobby really started to become a profession.

Now each outfit you wear on Instagram sets trends, do you work with a stylist?

No, it's always just me. I have never worked with a stylist. Every fashion week I create my own look plan. It is not that I am against it, but I am very specific with what I want and what I like.

How is that style you like?

Feminine with a twist. I like to play with fashion and sometimes I try more grunge or alternative styles, but always with a feminine touch, even if it's in makeup or hairstyle.

And in beauty, do you let yourself be advised or do you prefer to be in charge of your look?

At the most glamorous events they sometimes help me with my hair and sometimes I do it myself, but I always do my makeup. I love it, for me it is a therapy.

How is your beauty routine in your day to day?

I travel a lot and usually go to the airport with a little makeup because I'm always taking photos of myself. Upon entering the plane I carry out a complete beauty routine: I take off my makeup, I wash my face, I hydrate … everything. I use a mask before going to sleep and then a hydrating serum when I wake up.

What is your essential beauty tool?

One thing I always carry with me is a quartz or jade roller. When I get up, my face is very swollen, I massage my facial skin with it and it really helps. If you put it in the fridge or in a glass of ice water if you're on the plane, it works wonders, especially the area around the eyes and the contour of the face. Is incredible.

What are your favorite Latin brands?

I am passionate about the Colombian Silvia Tcherassi. Three years ago when I was doing a photo shoot in Miami, the stylist brought a dress that I loved and it was hers. Since then I have been wearing a lot of her brand clothes. Carolina Herrera is the most iconic. When I went to their first show it was a dream. She is so feminine and an absolute icon of style.

You have traveled the world buying and discovering brands, do you have a favorite fashion destination?

Paris. Each store in this city has a unique and super careful selection, I find the most special pieces in Paris stores, such as Le Bon Marché.
