Gwyneth Paltrow and Angelina Jolie have publicly stated that producer Harvey Weinstein also sexually harassed them, according to The New York Times.

Paltrow explained to the newspaper that he was 22 years old when he landed the starring role in the film Emma, which was produced by the company of Weinstein, one of the most influential men in Hollywood.

Before filming began, the actress went to a suite at the Beverly Hills Peninsula hotel for a meeting with the producer about the film. But in the course of the meeting, Weinstein put his hand on the young actress and suggested that they go to bed to massage her, always according to the Times.

"I was a young girl, I had been hired [for the film], I was petrified," Paltrow said in the interview, where she first accuses the man who helped her start her career and produced the movie - Shakespeare in Love- for which he won an Oscar.

Paltrow told her boyfriend of the time, actor Brad Pitt, who confronted the producer. Later, Weinstein asked the actress not to speak more about what happened.

In the case of Jolie, the actress and filmmaker explained to the newspaper that in the late 1990s, after releasing the film Playing by Heart, Weinstein made unwanted proposals in a hotel room, which she rejected. "I had a bad experience with Harvey Weinstein in my youth, and as a result, I chose never to work with him again and warn others when they did," Jolie said via email. "Her behavior towards women in any field, any country, is unacceptable."

With these statements, the actresses join a growing list of women who accuse the film magnate of harassment, touching and even rape after the appearance in the Times of an investigation of his alleged inappropriate behavior.
