Since Hurricane Maria hit Puerto Rico, Daddy Yankee has stopped all his plans to turn completely to help the victims. The same has been seen collecting food at his concerts, bringing ice or fuel to the same causes of the victims left by the most powerful storm that has hit the Island in the last century.
Yesterday CNN reported that the reggaeton player had "literally saved from the Puerto Rico Food Bank." This happened when the star who composed “Despacito” along with Luis Fonsi and Erika Ender, toured this institution and learned that they had no fuel for the generator that keeps its cooling system running. The 25,000 pounds of food they had to give to Puerto Ricans were in danger. Yankee, who had already donated $ 100,000 to that entity, did not hesitate to go the extra mile and mobilized his staff to bring them 200 gallons of Diesel.
But not there for your help. The artist whose real name is Ramón Luis Ayala, has been personally helping in the distribution of food boxes. And, while the food sent by the United States government is reported to consist of a small box with a can of Hormel Corned Beef Hash, crackers, a packet of fruit and a portion of peanut butter, the ones he has donated are a lot. Most generous: 59 pounds of food including rice, pasta, tuna, beans, meat, and milk.
Aside from that generous contribution, Yankee has also been making in-person appearances to the poorest neighborhoods. Some social networks have reported that they have seen him distributing ice in some homes; Last night he appeared at an old man's house to bring him an electric power generator and, while he was moving in his vehicle around the Island, he even stopped to help another driver whose vehicle had been stranded in the middle of the road.
Some videos of the dedication and dedication of the musician show the faces of happiness of his countrymen upon discovering that it is he, the star whom they have admired on television or on the radio, who is personally coming to his aid. Many cry with emotion when they hug him. And he, visibly moved, only manages to answer with all humility: “To God, we must thank God! To Him be all the glory!”
Daddy Yankee is one of the celebrities who has donated the most money to Isla del Encanto after this tragedy: $ 1 million. However, after that contribution, it has not remained static. And, sources close to him have indicated that this is only the beginning because, in honor of the success that would give him international fame, he is not running out of "gasoline" and is planning a much more ambitious project: how to rebuild the houses that the hurricane was carried away.
