Two shocking avalanches in less than 24 hours have left one dead and two wounded in Yosemite National Park. According to videos circulating on networks and testimonies from park visitors, both landslides occurred at the huge summit known as El Capitán when huge sheets of rock slid down one of its sides.
The first detachment occurred on Wednesday leaving an injured man. And the second occurred Thursday afternoon causing the death of a British tourist and injuries to his wife, who reportedly remains in hospital.
The victim was identified as Andrew Foster, 32, from Wales. According to KSEE24 News reports, the man and his wife were standing at the base of the massive monolith when a massive 130-foot rock crashed from a distance of about 1,800 feet high. The man was hit by a rock that caused injuries to his skull.
