Many victims have been left after the earthquake that struck Mexico on September 19. However, some victims know that life must continue despite the tragedy. Thus, last weekend, a couple decided to continue with their wedding plans and get married despite the vicissitudes.
Erika Castillo and Alan Lugo had been planning their wedding for months; for their misfortune, their house was disabled, so the couple had to move to a shelter.
"We were no longer going to [get married] because of the difficulties of being outside a home," Lugo explained to the Mexican television channel Televisa. "Out of consideration, or something like that, we were thinking of suspending it."
Running out of a place to live was not enough of an impediment for them to fulfill their dream of joining their lives in a nuptial bond.
“We thought that there was no real reason to prevent us from carrying out what was already our wish long before. So, between the two of us, we support each other morally and we said: 'yes, we can,'”he added.
The newlyweds are aware of the need to have a home and, from this moment, they will dedicate themselves to looking for a new property where to start as a couple.
“Obviously what we need right now is a house to live. A refuge I think is the main thing to be able to be well, Castillo added to the same media.
"We are going to look for a new apartment to start a new life as a family and to get ahead," said Lugo.
What to many may seem somewhat difficult for Alan Lugo and Erika Castillo to overcome is just an obstacle that life puts on them; therefore, they have the confidence to overcome it together.
"Despite all the difficulties, to get ahead," concluded the young husband.
