Salvador Dali's DNA Test Results Come Out

The result of a DNA test has denied a woman's claim that she was an unrecognized daughter of Salvador Dalí, whose body had to be unearthed by court order to collect the samples with which she carried out the paternity test.

According to the AP agency, it was the Gala-Salvador Dalí Foundation that released the test result through a statement.

Pilar Abel, a 61-year-old tarot reader, alleged for many years that her mother had an affair with Salvador Dalí of which she had been the fruit and for that reason she demanded a part of the heritage bequeathed by the great Catalan artist.

A judicial spokesperson told AP that the court has not released the results of the tests, although both parties have already been informed of the results of the tests.

Abel's claim led to Dalí's remains being exhumed in order to carry out the required genetic tests. Forensic doctors removed hair, nails and two bones from the remains of the surrealist painter and sculptor.

At the time of the exhumation, the foundation that preserves the artist's heritage revealed that Dalí's remains - including his famous mustache - were well preserved and mummified after almost three decades.

The foundation announced that the remains will be returned to the place where they remained buried until their exhumation, the Dalí Theater Museum in Figueres, the artist's hometown.
