A 17-year-old Argentine boy, who allegedly motivated others to commit collective suicide through social media, was detained by international authorities.
In this way, it was as criminal investigation organizations such as the FBI and Interpool, they joined Ertzaintza, the autonomous police of the Basque Country, in Spain, to thwart the macabre plan that the young man allegedly had. The note from El País states that the Basque police started the investigation on July 19. Why? Agents from the criminal investigation unit detected a call on social media to carry out a mass suicide by the end of the year. The same would be carried out by people in various countries.
As the investigation continues, the authorities realize that the date to commit the collective suicide had been advanced by the young man, who was the alleged inducer. It had been moved to August 17, reports El País.
After investigation and prompt response from technology and criminal crime specialists, they were able to track the group online. That was how they were able to find the whereabouts of the young Argentine. The information published by El País reveals that through Interpool, the authorities and the Argentine Federal Police arrested the minor at his residence in San José, a city in the province of Entre Ríos. It should be noted that the Argentine police found bloody knives and gauze at the scene.
Lastly, the note states that the investigation is still open to be able to find all those involved and verify that there are no other groups that have been created by the young person for that purpose.
