The personalities were quick to show their solidarity in the face of the terrible terrorist attack that shook the city of Barcelona, Spain yesterday, and that claimed the lives of at least 13 people and left some 80 more wounded.
One of the first to react was Jennifer López who, through her Twitter account, wrote: "Sending much love and peace to the great city of #Barcelona and all its beautiful people."
Although Luis Fonsi is on a tight work schedule thanks to the success of his song “Despacito”, he took the time to express his pain, not only because Spain has opened the doors to him in an incredible way, but also because he is married to one of his daughters. "There are things that I will never understand … My heart hurts for you Barcelona," he wrote through a tweet.
His wife, Agueda Lópe z, also expressed his dismay, sharing on his Instagram wall, the tweet that ex-president Barack Obama sent : “Michelle and I are thinking about the victims and their families in Barcelona. We Americans will always be with our Spanish friends”, and then she finished off her message with a gesture of affection, in Spanish:“Un abrazo”.
The Spanish stars also turned to social networks to send messages of encouragement to the people of Barcelona. Alejandro Sanz wrote: "What sadness happened in Barcelona what pain … I send you my hug with emotion." While Antonio Banderas was shorter: "Cast in a hug with Barcelona." And the Oscar winner, Penélope Cruz, did not put a single word on the network that she uses the most, Instagram. She just put on a black ribbon as a sign of mourning.
And the message of the footballers of the local football team could not be missing, such as that of Gerard Piqué who, in Catalan, sent his support to those affected by this “barbarism”. And that of Lionel Messi, who although he is generally of few words, turned to write this long and heartfelt message:
Yesterday a ruthless driver drove a white van over the La Rambla pedestrian promenade, running right and left over the pedestrians who were walking by, many of them tourists. Hours later it became known that the authorities managed to dismantle a second terrorist attack, in another sector of that city.
