Very soon it will be a month since the fatal accident in which a 14-year-old Hispanic girl died in Merced County, California. The road accident impacted because it was allegedly broadcast on social media by the victim's own sister, who was driving and who captured images of the dying young woman after the crash.
The misfortune occurred on July 21 near the town of Los Banos and has brought serious consequences to 18-year-old Obdulia Sánchez, who is responsible for the death of her younger sister, Jacqueline Sánchez Estrada.
The young woman was driving under the influence and is now facing six charges including vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated and driving a vehicle while under the influence.
Ramnik Samrao, defense attorney for Obdulia Sánchez, said Monday that the deadly incident was likely due to a vehicle failure.
"We have reason to believe that the accident was caused by physical wear on the tire, which caused it to explode. We are focusing our research on that, "said Samrao.
