The Department of the Treasury of the United States recently revealed a list of people who accuse of having ties to drug trafficking and in this the names of the soccer player of the Mexican team Rafael Márquez and the singer Julión Álvarez appear.

The document, published today by the Office of Foreign Assets Control on the government agency's online site, also makes a detailed breakdown under the names of the player and the singer, where people and companies related to their cases are added.

In addition to the list, the Treasury Department also published on its social networks an image in which it implicates the former Barcelona player to be part of the network of people and organizations linked to drug lord Raúl Flores Hernández, who has been facing accusations for several years. years in the United States for cocaine trafficking and money laundering.

Three companies under the ownership of Álvarez and nine companies associated with Márquez were included in the list, which was born in 1999 in order to apply sanctions to governments, entities, and people who allegedly maintain any relationship with members of drug trafficking.

Although being on the list does not imply legal sanctions, a report by the Mexican newspaper Milenio ensures that the immediate consequences for those involved are the immediate cancellation of their visas, freezing of accounts and properties in the United States, in addition to the ban on any company in the country to carry out commercial activities with the mentioned companies.
