Man Who Was A Woman Had Her First Child

Trystan Reese, a transgender man, gave birth to her first child, Leo, with her partner Biff Chaplow on July 14. It was last year that the couple made the decision to have a child naturally since Reese was born female. "We decided that we wanted to grow our family and that this would be a good way to do it," Chaplow told our sister magazine People.

The couple decided last year to try to conceive naturally. "It is a great relief that [our baby is here]," said Reese, who experienced an abortion in her first pregnancy. "We have waited so long to meet her, and we work so hard to bring her into this world, that we are so happy to look at her face and hold her little hand."

Fortunately, little Leo is a healthy boy, and at the time of his birth he weighed 9.5 pounds and was 21.5 inches. "Leo is the most charming baby of all time," said Reese. “He is eating like a champion, he sleeps well and he blesses us with a lot of caresses. He always stares at me, and he's amazing."

The baby is the couple's third child, as they have two older children, Riley, 9, and Hailey, 7, who were adopted after Chaplow's sister was unable to care for them. "Hailey helps us feed and entertain him, even helps us change his diapers," says Reese. "Riley is more distracted I think he's waiting for Leo to be older so they can play."
