Chiquis Rivera spoke of the lawsuit filed by the family of the stylist who died with her mother Jenni Rivera when the plane they were traveling crashed in Mexico in 2012.

After waiting for compensation from the Rivera family for almost five years, relatives of Jorge Chávez said, they went to a lawyer to present their case.

What does Chiquis think about it?

"I haven't asked my aunt Rosie," the artist told the Despierta América (Univision) program. "But I know my aunt Rosie. She takes great care of the children's money because my mom obviously left it to them and it is difficult [to manage].”

Rosie Rivera is the one who took the reins of Jenni Rivera Enterprises and the compensation that the children of the deceased singer will collect when they turn 25.

According to Chávez's family lawyer, Alejandro Jiménez, the Rivera family had promised compensation to workers who were with Jenni in the accident, but this was not the case.

“The federal law of our country establishes a certain time to be able to sue, but they have been brought with lengths, as it is commonly said. They have been telling them that they are going to help them, that they are going to pay them and so on, and now I understand that this has not happened, "the lawyer told Univision. "It wasn't just Jenni, there are other people who died in that accident and their families have rights."

Although the Chiquis assured that she does not know the details of the situation, she expressed her support for her aunt and assured that the families will receive their compensation.

“[The workers] were friends with my mother, the people who went with her and I imagine how the family must feel. I lived it. [They] were our family and I imagine that if she promised something, she will keep it, "he said.

The Rivera family reached an agreement a few months ago with the manufacturer of the damaged plane whereby Jenni's two children who were minors when he died will receive $ 65,000.

At the same time, a Los Angeles judge last year sentenced the company that owns the device, Starwood, to pay $ 70 million in compensation to the relatives of four of the six people who died along with the diva in the accident on 9 December 2012.
