A 14-year-old teenager was enjoying a mechanical game at an amusement park when she inexplicably began to fall off the device that was 25 feet (about 8 meters) high, as people screamed when they saw what was happening. Fortunately, the young girl was unscathed from that horrifying experience, thanks to the fact that several people crowded to catch her in her fall.
The video shows how, last Saturday at Six Flags Great Escape Park in Lake George, New York, the young woman wearing blue shorts and a gray T-shirt screams hysterically while hanging from a gondola that, although at first it continues to move, then she is arrested. There is a boy sitting next to her, but he doesn't seem to be in danger of falling.
Other spectators also begin to shout and one of them is even heard exclaiming in horror: “She is trapped (in the gondola) by the neck!). People start yelling at her to launch, that they are going to catch her. And so he does, falling on a burly man named Matthew Howard Sr.
Both the young woman and Howard were taken to a nearby hospital. She apparently emerged unscathed from the situation, but he was treated for a back injury.
According to The Washington Post, police said the device where this incident happened is the Sky Ride and described it as "a very slow-moving gondola ride that stretches several hundred feet through the park."
A park spokeswoman said that although the relevant authorities found no mechanical damage and have already authorized the attraction to continue operating, Six Flags has decided to keep it closed for a longer time to carry out its own and exhaustive investigation.
