A woman from Reno, Texas, was arrested by Parker County Police in connection with the death of her six-month-old baby.

On June 13, Cheyenne Summer Stuckey, 21, left her daughter, Zayla Hernández, unattended in the bathtub while she was engaged in checking her messages on Facebook.

The mother told authorities that she put her daughter in the bathtub and left the water running "for just a few minutes," then returned and found her daughter lifeless, floating upside down in the bathtub.

Police added that the woman came out of the bathroom after being "distracted" by her other son, 2, while the television was on at high volume. It was then when she entered the Facebook Messenger application where she remained connected for 18 minutes.

The arrest report indicates that the person Stuckey was talking to was his neighbor Malisa Ogle, with whom he had a conversation on Facebook about a package that contained jewelry that he supposedly expected and was missing in the building.

In messages with other people on Facebook, Stuckey discussed different types of drug paraphernalia.

The baby was transported by ambulance to the Azle hospital where she died from drowning.

Other children residing with Stuckey in the same house were transferred to an orphanage. Stuckey is facing charges of child assault with no bond option so far.
