There are many crimes linked to Facebook, all of them shocking, but few are as absurd as what a man did in Algeria, North Africa, to supposedly increase his popularity on said social platform.
According to reports from the BBC and the local newspaper Al Arabiya, the subject in question published a photo of a baby hanging from his right hand in the window of a skyscraper and looking scared, pouting.
Another photo shows the baby looking into the void, according to sources the boy was on the 15th floor of the building. Both photos show in the background several skyscrapers and tiny cars in a parking lot, which would confirm the dizzying height at which the minor was allegedly hanging.
In both photos it can be seen that the man was holding the baby with his right hand, and taking the photo with his left hand, holding him only by the neck of the shirt. The photo also reveals that someone else was apparently taking the minor by the hand. "1000" likes "or I loose it," said the subject - whose name was not revealed - in his Facebook post.
According to reports, it was the Facebook users themselves who on Sunday reported the abuse of the minor that was seen in the photo and notified the police, so that the capture of the individual could be obtained.
Now, the subject - who in some places was identified as the boy's father, but who has been clarified is only a relative - has been sentenced to 2 years in prison for endangering the child's life.
