The actor Pablo Montero came out this Monday to pass the rumors that his sounded dismissal from the soap opera The Flight of Victory (Televisa) was due to his lack of discipline and alcohol problems.
“At no time did I arrive in an inconvenient state. He was always one of the first to arrive on location. I took an extreme decision, but when I spoke to her (the producer Nathalie Lartilleaux) told me that I knew the consequences, Montero said at a news conference in Mexico City.
He explained that he was unable to attend the last of the five calls for which he was summoned due to a problem with the private plane that had to transfer him to the Mexican capital and not due to indiscipline or alcohol abuse.
At the same time, he recognized that in his contract there was a closure where it was specified that at the first fault his services would be dispensed with, as it happened.
"I am in a stage of mourning, because I really loved the project," he added. "I feel very shocked, very sad, because I was very committed. I had been preparing for the project for three months. However, I assume the consequences of my actions and I have no choice but to accept the decision.”
It is not the first time that Montero has been reprimanded for unexcused absences from the recording set. In 2008, he was absent from the soap opera Fuego en la sangre for being in custody in Miami, accused of having relapsed into drug use. On that occasion, he was given a second chance.
He was not so lucky in the 2013 soap opera Mi corazón es tuyo, from which he was fired after a couple of warnings.
That same year he was also temporarily suspended from the melodrama Qué bonito amor as a result of several delays that affected the production.
