Dove launches a new campaign to incentivize women of all races to love their hair the way it is.
The #Loveyourhair initiative was created to challenge established beauty standards and to emphasize the idea that hair beauty should not be defined in one way.
With it, Dove seeks to celebrate women with different textures, colors, and hair types to ensure that their hair makes them feel safe and doesn't intimidate them.
"In our research, the vast majority of women don't love their hair, and others feel a lot of pressure with society's beauty standards," said Rob Candelino, Unilever vice president and general manager of hair care. Dove believes that all women are beautiful. We work to help women see their hair as a source of security that should never stop them. Dove's #Loveyourhair initiative is designed to celebrate all the wonderful true stories of women who decided to leave the pressure of society behind and wear their hair in the way that makes them feel most beautiful and self-confident.”
As part of this project, the company also released a mini film where it shows several girls wearing their hair the way they like it, with the idea of inspiring many more to dare to do the same.
To join the campaign and show that you love your hair and the way you wear it, upload a photo to Instagram, Facebook or Twitter with #Loveyourhair.
