Last Mother's Day, the successful Australian broadcaster Ryan Jon recorded a moving video - which triumphs in the networks - in which he speaks to his biological mother, who gave him up for adoption when he was just a baby.

"Hi! I'm Ryan and I've never met my birth mother. I'm adopted," says the 29-year-old announcer. "From the little information I have, it seems like she got pregnant unexpectedly and didn't think she would have the time or maturity to be a good mom. She didn't have the best parenting and wanted to make sure her son had what she lacked.".

Ryan wants to raise awareness and thank the parents who gave him a home when he was just a baby. "I am very happy to be able to exist," he says. "My parents, who knew they couldn't have children, are very happy too."

From his point of view, he encourages women who "feel guilty" about giving their babies up for adoption.

"Without going into the abortion debate, from someone who was adopted, I feel the opposite. You are giving someone the gift of living. You have sacrificed your life for someone whom in 12 months you will not even know," he says.

Ryan says he made the video with no intention of meeting his birth mother, only for the purpose of circulating it so that his wish for a happy Mother's Day arrives.
